UPCOMING EVENTS

Women's Bible Study Begins

February 04, 2020

Ladies, join us for our Tuesday morning Bible Study. New study begins February 4th and will run until April 7. 9:45am - Noon. We will be going through Kelly Minter's study called "No Other Gods". $20 for the book. Pay online or first day of class.

In this study, we’ll learn to identify the functional gods we unknowingly serving and the lies they tell. And as we dethrone our modern-day idols, we’ll be set free for the deeper, more abundant life Jesus came to give—discovering that Jesus can do what no other god can.

REACH High School Winter Retreat

February 14, 2020

February 14-17, 2020  //  $195  //  For current 9-12 graders

Come join us for a 3-day weekend at WA Family Ranch in Antelope Oregon! This is gonna be a great time!

There's climbing walls, a giant swing, skate board ramps, volleyball, basketball, fooseball, coffee shop, crafts, board games, group games and 2 awesome speakers!

Josh Mann from Fox Island Alliance and Tina Combs from Hood River Alliance are speaking. They will be doing a series called, "Can I ask you something?" on the questions of Jesus.

SPCC is part of the Christian and missionary alliance denomination, and this is the once a year gathering of all high school students in the NW field. If you went to Quest, this is the high school version of that (but at a different location, so very different experience of course!). This is a great time to be part of the greater family in the Alliance.

Don't miss out on this amazing time!

Transportation:
This retreat takes place at Washington Family Ranch in central Oregon. It is around a 7 hour drive to the retreat center, so students must be able to get out of school early in order to attend.

Arrive at the church by 10:30.

If you need help getting a ride from school at that time, we can help arrange something for you. You may also drop luggage off up to a week before. Notice that we return on Monday night because of the holiday weekend!

Cost is $195, but you will also need money for 4 meals on the road during travel time.

Forms: Once you sign up you will be emailed the necessary forms for camp.

MOPS Auction

March 06, 2020

Join us for the 13th Annual MOPS & MOMSnext Fundraising Auction! Friday, March 6th. Silent Auction begins at 5:30. Dinner & Live Auction begins at 6:45. Come enjoy a delicious dinner, be entertained by our amazing auctioneer team, bid on some fun items and support a ministry that is making a difference! Only $10 per person or $70 for a table of 8.

***Here at MOPS, we are on a mission to celebrate motherhood. We build circles of women who love each other like family, because raising humans is beautiful and hard, and having each other to lean on is life-giving. That’s why we connect moms to a community of women, who meet together to learn and grow and embrace the journey of being a mom. This is motherhood, and together we can change the world in all the best ways, starting in our homes and in our community. We serve moms from pregnancy through preschool (MOPS) and moms in the school-aged years (MOMSnext). This year we are serving 85 moms with over 100 children in our MOPS Kids program! One of the largest groups in our area!!

Would you consider partnering with us to make a difference in local families? JOIN US for an INCREDIBLE evening!!!!

Poverty 101 Class

May 23, 2020

Poverty 101 by the Everett Gospel Mission is a foundation series of interactive exercises and conversational learning. You will be challenged by a growing self-awareness of how your life experience has fashioned both your understanding of poverty and those who are experiencing poverty.

By the end of this training participants will have:

  • Explored what the bible says about poverty, how God defines poverty, and how we as his church are to engage with those experiencing poverty.

  • Increased self-awareness of life history and how that impacts personal understanding of poverty.

  • Begun to understand cross-cultural differences of social and economic class.

  • Learned about communication and relationship differences and how some specific tools can help build healthy interactions between those experiencing poverty and those in the middle and upper class.

  • Considered how economic, political, and social systems create barriers to change.

You will laugh, be moved, inspired, and perhaps confronted. What we are sure of is that each past participant tells us that you cannot partake of Poverty 101 and not be moved in some way.

  • Admission is free but LIMITED

  • Lunch is provided (please let us know of any special dietary needs when you register)

  • NO CHILDCARE PROVIDED
